All images printed by FrameLink.us are printed on heavy alpha cellulose or cotton paper using archival, pigmented inks. All mats are made of archival grade alpha cellulose. Dyes used for our mat-colors use pigmented inks. All prints are “hinged” using acid free materials. Most mats that are called “acid free” only balance acid level. They do not remove the elements that produce the acid. The acid comes back and degrades your mat and image. Acid-free mats also use water based inks for the top color. Water based inks fade more quickly than pigmented inks.
